Lane Knight DDS
Dr. Lane T. Knight was born in Akron, Ohio. In 1993 he completed his undergraduate studies in biology at Virginia Commonwealth University, after which he attended Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry where he received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery.
Upon completion of dental school, Dr. Knight completed his four-year Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training at Howard University Hospital and its associated hospital affiliates in Washington, D. C. and Bronx, New York.
Dr. Knight joined Southern Maryland Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 2004, practicing the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery. He has devoted his professional career to all aspects of oral and maxillofacial surgery practice with special interests in dental implants, pathology, and trauma. He also serves as courtesy faculty at Howard University Hospital and Howard Universitys College of Dentistry where he is actively involved in the training of oral and maxillofacial surgery residents as well as dental students. He is licensed to practice in both the state of Maryland and the District of Columbia.
Dr. Knight is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and belongs to a number of local and national dental organizations, including: American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, American Dental Association, Southern Maryland Dental Society, Mid-Atlantic Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the Maryland State Dental Association.
In his personal time Dr Knight enjoys spending time with his family, fishing, golf and music.
