Dr Kosa, D.m.D.
Dr Kosa grew up in the greater Philadelphia area. He completed his undergraduate education at Temple University, graduating magna cum laude in biological sciences. Following his undergraduate studies, he attended the Temple University Dental School graduating magna cum laude.
Upon completion of his doctorate, he was accepted into the Christiana Care Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency in Delaware. His surgical training encompassed the full scope of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery including dentoalveolar procedures, dental implants/grafting, facial trauma, TMJ, head/neck pathology, and correction of dentofacial deformities. As a chief resident, Dr. Kosa had the opportunity to travel overseas, providing surgical care to the underserved populations of Haiti and Honduras.
Dr. Kosa was selected to be a part of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society (OKU) and was the recipient of numerous awards including the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons’ Award and the International College of Dentists Leadership Award.
He is currently a member of the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS), American College of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons (ACOMS), American Dental Association (ADA), Mid-Atlantic Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons (MASOMS), and the Maryland State Dental Association (MSD). He maintains surgical staff appointments at the Washington Hospital Center and Southern Maryland Hospital Center.
Dr. Kosa is proud to be a part of the Maryland Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery community and the SMDOMS family. Outside of his career interests, Dr. Kosa enjoys spending time with family, recreational sports, and traveling abroad.
