Wendell Gardner D.D.S.
Dr. Gardner is a native of Dallas, Texas. He graduated cum laude, majoring in biology with a minor in chemistry from Xavier University in New Orleans, LA.
Dr. Gardner received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery Degree with honors from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee. He continued his graduate studies at Metro Nashville General Hospital and the Alvin C. York Medical Center in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, were he completed the General Practice Residency Program.
After serving as Chief Resident; Dr. Gardner received his certificate in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He was then appointed to a full time faculty position as an Assistant Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Metro Nashville General Hospital. After giving back to the educational system, Dr. Gardner then relocated to the Maryland area where he joined the Southern Maryland Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery team.
He has received numerous awards which include: National Deans List, All American Scholar; The American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Aptitude and Achievement Reward; The Byron Robinson Educational Foundation Award for Scholastic Excellence in Oral Surgery; Whos Who Among Students In American Universities and Colleges Award; National Deans List; National Collegiate Medical Professions Award Recipient; All American Scholar; and the United States Achievement Academy Award.
He is a Diplomate, and Board Certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery; a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and a Fellow of the American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is a member of the Mid Atlantic Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Maryland Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Dental Association, National Dental Association, Maryland Dental Association, and the Patuxent Dental Society. He enjoys spending time with his daughter. His hobbies include art, music, and traveling.
